Sensitive 10 yr old boy

My son stayed with my parents for 2 months. He was pampered and sheltered from reality with them. He also gained a good amount of weight.

We recently moved from the country to more of a city setting. He met a boy recently whom starting picking on him for his weight. He cried. It hurt his feelings. He wants so bad to be accepted by everyone. I'm there for him and explain to him how wonderful he is and to brush off what meanies say.

What else can I do to make him more secure with himself, confident and to toughen him up a little??
