Hi, my almost 5 year old daughter came out in loads of spots in clusters all over her body last night. They we're itchy and we assumed it was chicken pox, I awaited the blister type spots this morning. She was absolutely fine, no lethargy, aching or anything. Just thrilled to have chicken pox.
So...this morning she got up and nothing! Not a spot in sight! Felt fine.
Then after her lunch, they re-appeared then faded. Then she had a bun this aft, same again. She's just had dinner and they are really bad again now? She's never had an allergy, I haven't used anything differently. Any ideas? I'm obviously going to take her to the Drs tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had any light to shed? I've just given her a little spoon of baby piriton.
Thanks

Well, it doesn't sound one bit like chicken pox but may well be another of the viral class of rashes, similar to the chicken pox virus.

Your treatment of Piriton is fine...........but I would have doubled the dose.

Will be interested to know the diagnosis given by your GP tomorrow.

Thanks sqad. It's very strange, after every meal since last night but never had any reactions previously.
Could it be hand, foot and mouth? Very similar in appearance to chicken pox.
Could be.

Well the conclusion was that it was an allergic reaction. But can't identify what to since it happened after every food yesterday. It might never happen again, but if it does she has been prescribed a bottle of cetirizine (which coincidently is what I'm taking at the moment for hyperemisis gravidarum)
If it carries on she'll be referred to allergy clinic but none so far today! Strange!
Thanks for the feedback..........sounds reasonable.
