Hi, Ive just posted in the q above about good deals you can get on lastminute.com, but speaking from personal experience Id recommend Thailand. (All your suggestions sound great but Ive never been to any of them so cant comment!) I went a couple of years ago and had the most amazing holiday ever! Me & my boyfriend spent about 700 each for a 2 week break. Were not fans of package holidays so booked everything independently so we could move about as we pleased. Our flights were just over 400 each (Aeroflot no frills is an understatement), and the other 300 went towards all accommodation, all food, all activities, all travel (and we did a fair bit of that) all spending money and all drinks. We could have spent less if we were watching the pennies, but thought wed make the most of it since we were there! Some of the more touristy islands will probably be more expensive, but you can stay in some really nice beach huts for a few quid a night. As its been a couple of years since I was there you may want to go on to the lonely planet website, into their forum (called the thorn tree), there are loads of people on their who will be able to offer advice on costs and recommend places to stay. Thailand has something for everyone, more touristy spots for people who like their comforts, or less visited islands to the south for those who want to get away from things. To the north in chang mai theres great trekking to be done, and to top it off theres Bangkok, an absolutely amazing city!
