How Do You Eat??
32 Answers
I noticed ages ago how differently people eat their meals. Main meals generally. Take Mr Smow and I for example . He does the same thing EVERY meal time. Take a roast dinner for example. He will eat all the veg first. Then the potatoes and yorkies if any. Then all that will be left is the meat.which he eats last. His logic is he eats the least favourite things first and leaves the best till last - even though it's going cold lol.
I'm completely different. I put a little bit of everything on each forkful, so I'll have a tiny bit of veg, potato, and meat in each mouthful. I just assumed everyone ate like me but clearly not.

but my BIL, he is a right case. He eats everything separately and it takes him hours literally. We had him for Sunday lunch and I like to wash up the dishes not long after eating, but had to wait nearly 2 hours until he finished. God!!!

I do the same as Mr Smow.. On Saturdays , we always have a cooked breakfast, I eat bacon and mushrooms first then I take all the white off my fried egg and eat it with half toast or fried bread, then eat beans then tomato on other half of toast leaving the sausage for last. It always makes my daughter if she is visiting laugh.Like to eat things seperately, not keen on too much veg so I would have that last.
I am a sort of hybrid of Mr & Mrs Smow - I eat bits of everything all through the meal, but always save a favourite bit for last.
I think this comes from the 'you must clear your plate' policy of my Mum - being faced with a solitary carrot was not an inducement to cross the finish line - a crisp roastie and a bit of gravy was.
I do wonder whether my resultant 'eat the boring stuff first' tendency is a reason for my weight gain in recent years - perhaps if I ate the best bits and then thought 'no thanks' about the rest I'd eat less?

Eccles I think BECAUSE I was forced to finish my plate, to the point I'd be sat at the table for hours and even resorted to hiding food in my mouth, going to the loo and then spitting it in lol and flushing, is probably why I never finish a meal now. Think I always always leave something. Mind you the toilet thing backfired when my mum went in after me and found floating cauliflower!
