Monogamy Is Not Natural
195 Answers
Failing a philosophy section I shall have to face the wrath of Chatterbank…
But does anyone honestly believe that monogamy is natural?
At 52 yrs of age Ive *HAD* to come to the conclusion that humans just arnt meant to be monogamous. (either male or female) as much as we might like to think so...or wish!
Men still watch porn and women still like to read 50 Shades, etc.
Some might be monogamous in life but not in the head or emotions...

If Mr Kval wanders off and sows his oats elsewhere, it's not a deal breaker for me though especially as we are sometimes continents apart for months, as I'm not naturally jealous, as long as he doesn't love the other person. I would have the mother of all problems with that, but sex alone wouldn't be the thing to split us up or lessen what we have.
Neither porn nor 'erotic' literature to me has a bearing on monogamy or polygamy, that's just recreation and entirely irrelevant (and like Naomi there isn't enough money in the world to make me read 50 shades of utterly boring smut).

There is a link between testicle size and monogamy

//I certainly believe some, of both sexes but predominately male, would find it impossible to be monogamous throughout their life//
I would argue the opposite prudie.
Its invariably been the females that have cheated on their spouses among my family and friends. Indeed I buried one friend after his spouse cheated on him and he committed suicide.
Every member of my family (including my mother, both sisters, nieces etc) have all cheated on their spouses.
It would seem to me that females are far more likely to cheat than males. And there maybe biological reasons for that as well so its not about blame but about understanding how nature works.
