"this nasty piece of work with a mouth like a sewer and a drink problem to boot? "

It's online comments like that which lead this person to commit suicide. Tragic, immature and over all, rather sad.
She was all of those things - and probably unbalanced. A sad end to a life.
How do you know she had a drink problem?

She certainly did that day but she might not drink from one week until the next in her day to day life.
Perhaps she just had a drink problem on that day then.
Two bottles of wine at breakfast IS a drink problem, whichever way one would like to define it.
1;5 arrivals at A&E are drink related........mainly women......
It's a shame that is the focus of this sad situation.
Where would you like the focus to be, spath?
She paid to fly business class IMO she can drink as much as she wishes. She only made a scene because she was refused the drink.

Lets remember flight bottles as well yes?

Basically a glass.
"Where would you like the focus to be, spath?"

Her suicide. And how it was influenced by petty discussions about her like this.
//She only made a scene because she was refused the drink. //

But that isn't acceptable.... is it.
Neither is refusing drink to someone flying business class. IMO.

Flight bottles are like 18cl
Sqad - I don't think they are talking about normal size bottles of wine. The type you buy on the plane which is just a small glass.
//Neither is refusing drink to someone flying business class. IMO. //

Spath, airline crews are absolutely right to refuse to serve drunken, abusive people drinks - whatever class they're flying in.
Naomi, i never said they didn't. Seems they could have deescalated the situation by simply serving her what she wanted though.
This news article isn't about what happened, that's been discussed a while ago. This is about her suicide and why.

Do you think after this event, she deserved the abuse that she received?
Spath//In the incident on the plane she was in business class when she was refused a fourth bottle of wine with her breakfast//
Don't you think that they were correct to refuse to serve more drink?

Danny, i couldn't possibly have a clue. Seems refusing the drink did more harm than good, though.
She was awaiting a prosthetic nose - maybe that contributed to her desire to kill herself. Not everyone could live with it.

Read the OP title before jumping to conclusions. It says' suspected' suicide.
//Her suicide. And how it was influenced by petty discussions about her like this.//

Where do you get the idea you can drink as much as you like in Business Class? If a passenger is abusive and assaults a cabin crew then that passenger will be refused her fifth bottle of wine before breakfast. End of.
Incidentally. How do we know if she was inebriated or not before boarding the aircraft. Passengers can imbibe 24/7 in an airport departure lounge. I had a beer at 0300 last week in Rhodes airport beore boarding.
After witessing that tirade - she had a drink problem whether it was caused by a little wine or a lot. The amount she drank is not relevant...she was drunk! When you are drunk you do not get given more alcohol whether you have paid for it or not as you become a danger to other passengers.

Alcohol is no excuse for behaviour like that. In a confined area in a plane nobody should have to put up with that abusive behaviour.

If one glass got her drunk or 4 full bottles - you don't give her any more!
