is it ok to eat a supermarket coleslaw while i am preganant i am 3 months pregnant and i would like to know would it harm my baby

any mayonnaise that you buy in supermarkets (in or out of coleslaw) is made using pasteurised eggs and therefore are safe, its homemade stuff you need to be wary of.

When I was pregnant (son is 6 months now) the midwife said if I wanted to eat mayonaise, then I should stick to Hellmans, as then I could be sure that the eggs were pasturised.

I dont know whether it says on the labels of coleslaw whether the eggs are pasturiesed?

A lot of it is precautionary, but best to just not eat anything that you are not sure of, and ask your midwife for advice.

I did my best to avoid potentially harmfull foods, but me being the dope that I am, I ate spaghetti carbonara at an italian restaurant not realising it has raw egg on it!
