Suffering with anxiety and depression as I am, 6 weeks ago I was prescribed 50 mg of Sertraline and was told that it could take up to 6 weeks for the medication to be effective. Well the treatment seemed to do the trick after a month or so. However my condition worsened after 4 or so days of calm. I informed the people who were overseeing my treatment and today i have had my dose upped to 100mg. i am told 50 mg is considered a mild dose and that 100 mg should be right for me. Anyone with previous experience ?? I would love to here how you went on please. Chris AKA "Joe"

This doesn't really answer your question directly but, as I thought that it might still possibly help, I'll post the link anyway. (Sorry if I've wasted your time though, Joe!):

Yes, I was on 100mg for quite a while and I’m sure it helped.
The dosage seems to depend on what you are taking it for, but can be increased in increments of 50mg to a maximum of 200mg.

No I have never taken anxiolytic or ant depressive drugs, but I have a smattering of knowledge concerning dosage.

50mgms is a small dose, unlikely to make much difference but is a starter.

Barsel 01.32 ^ is quite correct.
