My little princess is soon to be 1 (she's growing up so quick!!). In traditional style, I suspect, she has been spoilt a little with toys the last 11 months. We see something and buy it (don't worry, it will stop!!). We're now a little stuck as to what to buy her for her birthday. She likes music, but I don't know what sort of thing would be suitable for a 1 year old. Any suggestions?

What about a CBeebies Music CD/DVD?
Just had another thought. My little boy had a small kareoke machine which also had bricks etc inside. He absolutely loved it. It only played nursery rhyme songs but that was all he knew anyway.
Blimey, that year went quick!

Know what you mean about growing up so quick, mines 19 months now, already a little girl, no longer my teeny baby :-(

How about looking here for inspiration?

You having a party?- Dont forget the cake, Asda do a beautiful Winnie The Pooh one
xxxx
My son turned 1 on the 2nd. As you, we have bought him loads over the last year.
We limited ourselves to one pressie and bought him a trike that has a parent handle and grows as he does.
If your daughter likes music then how about this http://www.elc.co.uk/toy-30917 it works as a drum, makes odd noises and also plays music. My son dances around the room and when it stops runs back to start it again. It also has flashing lights to amuse too.
Also for his birthday he got a swing from argos which will turn from toddlers to childs swing as he grows and a ball pool.
hope your little one enjoys her birthday
Im so glad you asked this question as my darling is going to be 1 soon... so I hope you get a lot of ideas as they will help me too!!! :o)

p.s. are you having a party for her, as I don't know what to do, I know they are too young to understand but Im half and half about having a party for her
Annie,
I dont have any friends with children so for my sons birthday we took him to the zoo, with all his aunties and then had a little tea party with the whole family afterwards, where he could play with his toys etc.
If you know other young babies then invite them round for about 2 hours, dont structure anything. Jut put a big rug and some toys out in the garden under shade and let them play.

We're having a barbecue the day before then going to Cotswold Wildlife Park on her birthday.

My wife's gone to ELC today to see what she can find (they're having a closing down sale in Swindon). Looks like the drum redcrx recommended is top of the list so far. Probably put some cash into her Child Trust Fund aswell.
Have you seen the Brainy Baby range in WHSmith? She could enjoy herself and learn at the same time.

i agree boo is that a whole year already !! by heck i remember your first its a baby girl post !! doesnt time fly .

Well, Mrs OBonio went all out and has bought 4 or 5 things in the ELC sale (all half price!). We now have a doll's house, an octopus mobile thingy that attaches to the side of the bath (she loves bath time!) and something else for 18 months + we're saving for Christmas.

Not sure where it's all going to go. Maybe we need to let go of some of her old toys.

Thanks for all your suggestions!
I hope you all have a wonderful day. Youll be surrounded by toys by the end of it. We had to leave some at the grandparents houses lol
