Does anyone know this poem about being a mother?
It's a cheesy poem which is basically an ode to being a mother rather than a housewife. It has lines in it about the toys all over the floor/ sticky fingerprints etc etc but not caring because she'd rather be a good mother than a domestic goddess. Any ideas what this poem is and where I can find it?

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But every day I'm growing --
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away
So here's a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small
If this isn't the one then maybe it's one of these....

try these:
My Handprints My dirty little handprint I've left on every wall And on the drawers and tabletops I've really marked them all But here is one that won't rub off I'm giving it to you Because I am so thankful For a (mother/father/gran) just like you!
Handprint Poem You always clean the fingerprints I leave upon the wall. I seem to make a mess of things Because I am so small. The years will pass so quickly I'll soon be grown like you And all my little fingerprints Will surely fade from view. So here's a special handprint A memory that's true. So you'll recall the very day I made this just for you!

Sorry I can't help but if you do find it can you post it on here. I have 5 kids and had the poem on my wall for for years and can't remember now what was on it. The ones you have been sent are not the ones. I liked it cause my house was always a mess and if anyone commented on it (mainly mother-in-law) I would point to the poem.
Hope you find it as I could get it made up for my daughter was has a baby now.

Hi Lisa,
someone found it for me on the art and lit board. i presume this is the one you mean x
Some houses try to hide the fact that children shelter there,
Ours boasts of it quite openly, the signs are everywhere,
For smears are on the windows, little smudges on the door,
I should apologise I guess for toys shrewn on the floor,
But I sat down with the children and we played and laughed and read,
And if the windows do not shine, their eyes will shine instead,
And when at times I'm forced to choose the one job or the other,
I want to be a housewife, but first I'll be a mother.
