my friends son is almost 2 and still breastfeeds and has never spent a night anywhere other than in her bed (wakes approx 4 times a night for a feed!)..now she has said this all must stop ..does anyone think she has trouble ahead??!!

Not really. A couple of days maybe. I was pretty much the same with my son. I thought he would go mad but he had accepted it by the end of the first day.

It takes all sorts and what suits one mum may not suit another. I fed my boy till he was 3 1/2 it suited us and he was fine stopping. He's out of my bed (almost) and he's coming up for 5. I would say do what she thinks is right and don't worry about the trouble ahead she may have prevented trouble before.

my auntie was still breast feeding my cousin till he was nearly 4 i thought it was disgusting,but 2 is ok there still babies

I dont think breastfeeding has anything to do with whether you baby sleep s with you. What exactly is she going to stop? Breastfeeding as well.

What is disgusting, is that it is "more natural" drink the milk of cow *smirk*

My gf fed our 2 kids on breast milk til they were 6 months then slowly weened them off it and when it comes to kids in there own bed then that started when they were 2 months old otherwise you just can't get sleep with a baby in your bed....

i think it was silly really to start with. my son is 2 and has never slept with me in my bed. She has made a rod for her own back and the little boy is the one to suffer!

I agree. It`s going to be very hard to get him out of this habit. I NEVER had any of my kids sleep with me either. They used to come in to my bed in the mornings & we`d all cuddle up for a couple of minutes. But that`s a different thing. I know of a couple who had their daughter sleep with them & it broke the marriage up. Mum wanted the child to & dad didn`t. After a few years it just got too much & they split up.
