Then you fill them with all sorts of things: felt tip pens, crayons, coloured cotton wool balls, dried pasta, tea bags, pegs, boiled sweets, etc etc. If you get any small glass jars (maybe those minature jam pots) you can put a 50p, 1 coin or fill it with pennies. Then charge 50p a go, Everyone is a winner. Always went down a storm when I did it.
Lottery Bonus Ball. Have a large sheet of paper with numbers 1 - 49 on it (someone I knew always drew 49 clouds shapes). 1 a go, write the persons name and phone number under their chosen number. The person with that nights lottery bonus ball number wins 25
Bucket of money. People buy a raffle ticket for 1, throwing the pound in a big bucket. At the end the winning raffle ticket gets half the money in the bucket. This is especially good if you can get 200 in the bucket, then the winner gets 100.
Chocolate tombola - like a normal tombola but all the prizes are chocolate related.

Get a huge bag of lollipops, then turn a cardboard box over and make enough small holes in it for each lolly. Take a few of the lollies and stick a little bit of coloured tape (or coloured paper with normal tape) on the ends of some of the lollies. Stick the lollies in the holes in the cardboard box so any hint of coloured ends are hidden, then people pay to play, pick a lolly and if they get one with a coloured end they get another little prize.
Lucky dips are always fun. Use film cannisters for little prizes (Or just wrap them up) and shredded newspaper or straw (which you can get at pet shops easily.) You could do a separate girls, boys and mixed one, we always had this in the Santa's grotto at primary school (One of the older students dressed up hiding in the PE cupboard!)
Can't remember any other favourites at the moment, fun question though! Might have to get back to you.

Find out if your school PTA (assuming you have one) is a member of the NCPTA. If not, you could consider joining. They offer many benefits, are not expensive, and, most important for you, their website offers many ideas for fund raising for their members.
Check out www.ncpta.org.uk
Also, go to www.bakerross.co.uk and order a catalogue. They have a lot of fund raising ideas in there.
