Pooing Pants

my son is 4 & half and has been clean for 2 years but has suddenly in the last two weeks started pooing his pants at home & school. i have asked him why but get no response, there doesn't seem to be any issues at school. we have tried ignoring him and sending him to bed but nothing seems to work. anyone else expereinced this?
