breach of court order
When my ex and i divorced over 3yrs ago we agreed that he would contribute towards childcare costs for our daughter of 30 per week up until she was responsible enough not to warrant a childminder This was drawn up in the final court order regarding the divorce etc, so i presume its legally binding?.Before she started school my weekly fees were over130 a week! Now she is at school on a full time basis i have to take advantage of the breakfast/after school club as i work full time. The cost of this is70 a week. Out of the blue he has cancelled this arrangment without my prior knowledge, i found out when my bankstatement arrived! Can someone please advise? do i need to get back in touch with my solicitor? Sorry to waffle but the s*** has really wound me up!! Have found original paperwork from both our solicitors and it clearly states that he should pay fees until out of full time school.

Now unless your daughter was 13 at the time of the divorce and is 16 now then she is of age to leave school. However, it would transpire she is fair bit younger than that so he SHOULD be paying.
Only if he has not got a job at the moment and is on the dole will the solicitor not be able to chase effectively.
Hope this was of use to you!

Right, well as I said he has no reason then not to pay.
I was talking to a legal mate of mine and she was saying that you need to speak with your solicitor as soon as possible. Make sure you take bank statements etc with you to prove his non payment. Then ask him or her to write a polite letter to explain why the payment has stopped and subsequent action if he does not provide said payment. If necessary give me his email address and I will stalk him lol!

HI grumpy80, well what a difference it makes when you threaten to get a solicitor involved! I got apology and a promise to reinstate the payment! if i didnt need it i wouldnt fight for it,ive just got to face up to the fact that some parents think more of themselves than the child involved, personnally i would go without to make sure my daughter had everything she needed ie, food clothes etc(not what she would want ie toys etc) What a selfish peice of steaming cow poo!!!(thats very polite ha ha )
