occupying kids in school hols

how is everyone occupying kids on wet days in the school hols mine is at that funny age 11 nearly 12 and has outgrown face painting what can i do thats free but fun for her?

shes been on the lap top for most of the morning i was thinking more of something we could do together

Tell her she can invite some friends round or let her go round her friends. Yes it means more kids in your house but might be easier as they will keep themselves occupied.

bake a cake or teach her how to cook basic stuff

If you're wanting to stay in, then just spend the afternoon doing the type of thing she likes, whether it's drawing, watching a High School Musical dvd or doing each others hair and nails while talking about Hollyoaks/Eastenders! Costs nothing, you get to stay in the warm and I'm sure she'd love it!
Wish I could do that. I have 3 boys who just love charging about outside whatever the weather! We went fruit-picking yesterday which was lovely but soooo cold!

cooking thats a good idea any more suggestions?

I live with my landlady and her 13 year old daughter and she was teaching her to cook basic stuff, be really useful for her when she gets older too, wish someone taught me how to cook.

umm, just like the other lady said, have a girly day doing hair and nails and watching dvd

just the basic stuff ,buttons and a hem ..
I used to do embriodary ..just a thought ..
