To improve your chances of conceiving you can:
1) be very healthy - eat well, drink lots of water, exercise.
2) keep track of when you're ovulating. If you have a regular cycle, this is the midpoint of the cycle. You can also take your basal temperature each day to more scientifically track this, or use an ovulation predictor kit from the pharmacy. Generally they say that you are fertile between day 8 and day 19 of your cycle (based on a 28 day cycle).
3) have lots of sex on your fertile days!
Not sure if this will be of help to you, as many factors are involved with a conceiving but i have read that 1 position is for the woman to be on her back with her legs up (probably so your knees are nearly touching your shoulders)! Apparently this is supposed to work because the sperm have a direct and fast entry! I'm sure someone is bound to rubbish this idea but in theory and practice it should improve your chances!
Hope this is of some help to you!
The official advice is to have sex every other day of your cycle, because some women do ovulate early or late and you don't want to miss it. The best positions are the deep penetration ones e.g. missionary position, and you're best off keeping your legs in the air for a few mins after. It also increases your chances if you have an orgasm and preferably very slightly after his (easier said than done I know!). Maintaining a healthy diet and a healthy weight help too, as does cutting out alcohol, smoking and excess caffeine. You should always take a 400mg supplement of folic acid while you're trying to conceieve and for the first few months of pregnancy.
