If you spotted your mates teenage child smoking would you tell them?

If it was my teenager I would want to know so YES I would tell also. I would also tell the teenager that I was going to tell his/her parents.

Depends how your mate would take it.

Some parents could see it as critisism(sp).

If the teenager is young enough, telling mum might be enough to nip the habit in the bud (eg by with holding spending money etc)

I think it'd depend on how much of a teen they were?

16 or under, definitely. Older than that no, probably not.

I'd tell them as I know how addictive, smelly and expensive cigs are. If I cared about my friends i'm sure they'd want to know that their child is going down this slippery slope.

They are 14. She has had her suspicions. She is smoker herself. And me being an ex smoker I wonder if I was told off when I was younger if I would really listen and I don�t think I would have, and I used to hate when my mums mates caught me and told her. But I also think I�d want to know if I had children.

I would mention it yes, It would bring things out in the open, but if her mom smokes its unlikely she will stop.

to be honest i wouldnt say to the parent but i'd have a word with the kid so they knew i might tell their parent!

its a boy cazzzz but then the boy does not know his mum smokes, she has occasional one once he's in bed

no it never stopped me :(
I started when i was 11 and every time i got caught i promised i'd never do it again......grown up and still at the dirty habit..wish i could stop

well I think the blissful ignorance may suit them, they might have an inkling about each other already but are happy with the situation, I cannot see him giving up because she knows, he is more likely to become even more secretive and carry on

I now have visions of one of them hiding out the front of the house for a crafty cig and the other hiding round the back for the same reason :)
