I am planning to, hopefully, get pregnant.  I just wondered when you get pregnant do you immediately "feel" different ? Do you eg get light headed, really tired, whatever etc.  I just wonder when pregnancy hormones kick in do you sort of know?  Also how early on do you get morning sickness?

I didn't.  I didn't feel any different, and only knew because I missed my period.  My (very mild, mind you) morning sickness started at about 8 weeks and lasted until about 14 or 15 weeks.

Good luck!

I did not feel different although I began to feel awful at about 6 weeks. But I have heard it said that some women "know" they are pregnant "the very second" they are - seems incredible doesn't it?

I didnt feel any different at all.  I half expected to be told there was nothing there when I went for my scan.
Yeah, sorry but it's different for everyone...I didn't know with mine, but my mum 'knew' straght away with me...
My ex told me!!!  And he was right!!

The first time I had absolutely no idea, and was out getting very drunk the night before I found out I was pregnant. I felt no different at all, but then within a couple of days, at 6 weeks pregnant I became very, very sick, and it continued until my son was born. The second time I did know straight away, not sure why but maybe your body recognises the familiar feeling. The sickness followed exactly the same pattern from 6 weeks.  For most people the sickness tails off at around 13 weeks, but you may not be sick or nauseous at all. The best advice is to eat a healthy diet before you get pregnant, so you are well prepared, and some doctors think this might reduce sickness. I am not convinced, but eating healthily can never be bad advice!!

There is now a test you can do right away - ie before your period is due, that can give you the answer right away!
My wife knew within a few days. She told me, then took the test which confirmed it. Spooky!!
I knew straight away with each of mine - confirmed when I couldn't stand the smell of tea.  Different situalion with morning sickness - sick ALL the nine months with my first two (girls) and only for the first 3 months with my son (and bloomed for the rest of the time. loads of energy, followed by 2 years of post natal depression!) Bottom line is we are all different - even my pregnancies were different.  Good luck.

I didn't know it until I did a test when my period was a week late, and I really expected it to be negative. It was only once I got to the 6 or 7 week stage that I started to feel tired and light headed, and the sick feeling only started at 8 weeks. The most common first symtom is painful breasts.

i got morning sickness at about 6 weeks.  plus my palms itched like crazy which i read that is a sign of being pregnant, crazy huh?  with my second my boyfriend actually got crazy chocolate cravings right before i found out for sure.
Mags you're going to have a different answer for every person who posts here, because every persons body is different and reacts in different ways!  You may have "classic" pregnancy symptoms and know right away, or you may not.. Some people don't even miss the first few periods after getting pregnant.  I am seven months pregnant right now, and the first thing I noticed (because I did have one period after getting pregnant) was breast tenderness.  I got sick all of one time, and that wasn't even in the morning!  And, like someone else has said, it was my boyfriend who first suggested that I get a pregnancy test - and I completely did not think I was pregnant!  My cousin (who is due on November 14th) didn't even know she was pregnant until she was four months because she had her period every month for the first three.  If you're going to get "morning" sickness (which could be evening sickness, daytime sickness or round-the-clock sickness actually) it would be most prevalent in the first trimester, generally 4-8 weeks along.  Good luck, it's a wonderful experience!  (And I hope you have a pregnancy like mine - free of most of the troubles pregnant women complain of!)
Oh yes, one more thing:  Since you are trying to get pregnant, start taking prenatal vitamins NOW!  The folic acid is very VERY important!  Your obstetrician will applaud you for it.

I'm pregnant and wanted to know when i got prenant.I had sex two or three weeks before my period.  I then had it again four days after my period.  i wanted to know if i got pregnant and still had my period?  could i get pregnant four days after my period?

Hello, This should help: http://www.vitabiotics.com/calculator_pregnancy.aspx?sm= 6

I's
an online calculator and when you enter the first day of your last Menstrual Cycle it will tell you when is the most likely date of Conception.  Yes, you can be pregnant and still have a light period but I don't think it is possible to get pregnant after four days of having your period (sometimes bleeding comes from different reasons-talk to your doctor).

This is the first month that 'we' (me and my husband) have been working on getting pregnant and I felt all sort of things and dreams only around the time of conception.  Since then my body temperature has increased by far and now that my period should arrive my breast are very tender but don't feel anything different, a part from the high temperature.  I should know by Monday but to be honest I think I am.... :-)  But how knows!  I might be completely wrong!  Good luck to all of you too.

i think u dnt get moring sickness untill you are a month gone.u will feel light headed in couble of week.and if you are you sould see a doctor for adive
