I'm not asking this to try and be showy or boastful but I have no irrational fears and really don't understand them. There are things I don't like, such as the sea but it wouldn't stop me going in for a paddle or going on a boat. There is nothing I am really scared of. Do you have an irrational fear of something and what makes it so scary? I'm just trying to understand it really.

The problem is that nobody understands it - even the person with the irrational fear. That is why it is irrational.
I think you've answered your own question milly; an irrational fear is just that, there are no obvious reasons; even to the people who hold these fears.
I'm terrified of spiders, daddy long legses and any crabs or insects that faintly resemble spiders; I just can't stand the way they move but even if they are dead couldn't touch one with my bare hands.

milly - I hope you never suffer from irrational fears or any other mental problem. It is not a nice way to live.
I wish i was like you milly! i am the total opposite of you. i always have irrational thoughts and fears and they affect everything. I cant think about 1 day at a time, i am always worrying about health for myself and my family even though there is nothing wrong to start with!
