I'm 40 weeks 2 days today but still no baby. I'm ginormous and there is so little room in there for baby that every movement is magnified and I actually feel bruised from the inside. Se doesn't appear to actually sleep that much either.

I've tried hot baths, curries, long walks (almost impossible) but hubby is not prepared to do the deed, and I can't blame him.

I know she'll come when she comes but I am pretty miserable now. And daily texts from friends and family don't bloody help.

Harumph!

Good luck meglet - it can't be long now..... have they given you a date to take you in, if madam doesn't appear under her own steam?
Ooo...
Poor you....Good luck xx

Yes, they'll induce me on Sunday week if necessary. God I hope not. Everyone I know has ended up with a section after induction!
Is she your first one? Mine came exactly 2 weeks after i got colostrum, if that helps. I did wonder whether she'd arrived yet. Although it feels like forever, it really can't be too much longer now.
\\\\ but hubby is not prepared to do the deed,\\\

What "deed" is that then?
I went 40 +10 days with Mini Boo and had to be induced. Induced at lunch, was in labour by that evening.

Good luck, will be worth it x
Also, i had induction for number 4, as number 3 took 17 minutes. Didn't have section, so it's not definite.
oh you poor thing. im sure walking is very uncomfortable, but try to move around as much as you can, hubby could 'do his part ' though :)
I was induced for both mine and had them naturally, so please don't worry meg. Good luck, and keep us posted. X
I didn't have a section either.
Sex, sqad
sqad,,,,,,,,,sperm contains prostaglandin. ( but you knew that didn't you ? ) :)
LOL/////oh! yeah!
My daughter was due on Saturday August 30th. I was to be admitted into hospital on the afternoon of Tuesday 15th August. She arrived at 1.30am on that Tuesday morning. My first words to her were 'what kept you in there then?' She has been bloody late for everything ever since. And I had to entertain her for an extra year before she went to school. Funny how you can remember memorable dates.

good evening meglet, i do not believe we have spoken before

firstly, congratulations to you on your impending joyous occasion

when your little princess does finally decide to put in an appearance, i am sure that you will put your current anxiety into perspective, and realise that it was wholly worth it

the very best of my wishes to you

No I know a section isn't definite, but I did want to do this as naturally as possible. I have done a hypnobirthing course and really really want a water birth, which will go straight out the window if I'm induced.

I spose I always knew I would go over - my scan dates put me 5 days earlier than the date I expected from my ovulation date.

She was estimated at 7lb 9oz at 36 weeks so she's gonna be a heifer!

Sex? Urgghh. I would but hubby doesn't 'see me that way at the moment'. As I said I can't blame him, I'm about as wide as I'm tall!

The next thing I have to contend with is my midwife mother-in-law who is going to want to give me a stretch and sweep. I know its her stock-in-trade and all that but there are limits!!
Your mother -in-law is your midwife?
I've had twins so I can sympathise :( She will be here when she's good and ready.
Question Author
LOL Pixie. No, thankfully. She happens to be a midwife and has already mentioned it. I will politely decline and leave it to my actual midwife!
