Baby milk (formular)

Hi i need some help for my friend who is due to have her baby soon and she was wondering what the best formular milk is (we know breast is best but not in her case) there are so many to choose from are they the same? some better than others? When i had my daughter i gave her milupa only because this is what my mum gave me and she said it was good when i was a baby and must admit her bowls were always good she was satisfied with it and not sicky, in the hospital however they used sma i was breastfeeding then so didnt ask i havent been able to find any sites that advise you what the best one is. Any advice/opinions would be most apreciated thanks

Most maternity units give a choice of formulas.....Not just SMA. I .I like milupa as a feed.( aptamil is for newborns).It doesn't seem to make the baby as sicky as SMA does

I had planned to breastfeed my first child but when she wouldn't take it I didn't know which formula to use so I asked the midwife which one she thought was the best make and she said cow and gate. If that helps?

It wasnt something I'd thought about until I was offered a choice at the hospital! I chose SMA randomly and my twins were fine on it. I dont think there is much of a difference and they all seem to be the same price. Obviously there are no bad side affects from brand formula milks, so I think everyones choice is right for them.

I have ended up giving my baby Cow & Gate Omneo Comfort ("for comfortable digestion" in a beigey carton) after trying SMA, which made her sick - Tried "green" Cow & Gate but she didn't gain weight as well as with the one she's back on now plus it made her sick (readymade carton).

My Health Visitor told me that they don't like to recommend any particular brand as they are all much the same and they don't like being advertisers for any manufacturer!
