I'm 39 weeks pregnant tomorrow (Saturday) and since tuesday i've been having strong uncomfortable contractions that only occur late evening/ night and come and go for an hour or so. I'm guessing these are Braxton Hicks. I had my first son at 39 weeks and i have been told this baby (my 2nd) is measuring a week bigger so i am expecting that he may come this weekend.
The pains that i have been getting are not as painful as labour pains but at times do become painful and i get an uncomfortable feeling round my bottom, almost feels like i need to go for a number 2 (but i don't) and as if someone has kicked me up there! I know that's a weird description but thats how it feels. I only felt that before when i was in established labour with my previous baby as his head was coming down the canal.

I was in slow labour for 2 weeks and 4 days with my little girl. and the contractions were definitly not braxtons as they were more painful, and i had a bruised feeling down below like i had been kicked as well and my bubs kept engaging nearly all the way and popping back up again, so you never know, it may be the start of it!
Good luck,
Hi my daughter is expecting her third baby in three weeks and she has been getting strong pains and said today she felt bruised. I am wondering if she is going to be early. Her last baby was a week early and she had the same sort of thing for a week.In the end we just about got her to hospital withing 5 mins of her having the baby. Good luck stressed out please let us know what you have. Love Brenda

Thanks. I'm expecting a boy, they said they could see boy bits at the scan. I wish he would hurry up. These pains are severe and strangely only occur at night! Is there a reason for this?
