Breast feeding.
No offence to anyone who does not breast feed, but I would be interested to know your reasons if you are willing to share them with me. I know that I will if I have kids because of all the advice that it boosts your childs immunity etc. Are the main reasons for convenience, cosmetic reasons or something else? Im aware that some people find it really difficult and end up giving up, Im really interested in the opinions of people who make a conscious decision not to do it in the first place.

I had to massage my breasts for days and use a pump and my milk still didnt come so I had to eventually give in and use a bottle. I was gutted but it was out of my control. I eventually got my milk about 2 weeks after giving birth by then my baby didnt have the reflex to suck my breast as he had now established his reflex on the bottle.
well ali, i had the same problem as spudqueen. my first son was also 6 weeks prem and didn't even have the sucking reflex for me to be able to breastfeed. when he was a little stronger i tried but to no avail. i still expressed as much as i could for 5 weeks but i eventually dried up and was mortified. my second son, same story, he too was 6 weeks prem and couldn't feed, i knew what was going to happen so i only expressed for 2 weeks that time, mortified again but both my boys are happy and healthy, in fact the second is twice as large as his brother at his age. So i believe that all pregnancies, children and experiences are diffrent for each child. My only wish is that my breasts look as they did 5 years ago because sadly (and you may not want to hear this but..) they droop whether you breast feed, express or neither. the sheer toll pregnancy takes on them will have them sagging long after you have given up trying. Glad you chose to have a go and all the very best with it, the pleasure that it gives you and baby is worth it. x
