Tomorrow I am having my first antenatal bloodtest along with my first scan. Normally with bloodtests, you have to starve yourself up 14 hours before, is this also the case with antenatal bloodtests?
I am sure I didnt when I had my first but that was 6 years ago and memory isnt what it used to be! With all the info the midwife gave me, there isnt anything saying either way.
Anyone know? Thanks.

Can't wait to hear about it, I have mine on Thursday and I have no idea what to expect. Aprt from them taking my blood of course.

Incidentally, my appt is at 9:06 and the receptionist booking me in said that was the earliest she could do because the fasters have to go in first.

natalie I am actually having my scan first, which is at 10am. That Im guessing is going to take about half an hour, then I will probably have to go and wait for my bloods to be done. So saying what time that will be is almost impossible really. Not that I couldve gone without eating this morning if I had to because Im suffering with sickness badly today :(
When they take your blood on Thursday, thats all they will do. You will get you results at a later date so Im afraid all you have for now is a needle prick in your arm!
I have my dating scan sometime in September, I was told they take lots of blood though on Thurs :-(

How long does it take for the results to come back?

I didnt think to ask! lol But then being in a different area, it may different to what you will have to wait.
