can't help but worry
4 Answers
i went for my 12wk scan today to find out that im only 10wks pregnant , but i feel as if this pregnancy is taking forever. Am i out of the danger zone yet? cant help but worry all the time. i saw a heartbeat and the baby moved and the lady said everything was ok. so i shud be really happy. i think it must all come down to having a miscarrige this time last year. but it has taken me all this time to get here. i just keep thinking that something is going to go wrong, like im going to loose the baby.all this negative thinking is no good for me, but just cant help it.
thank you for listerning. can any one give me any advice or have you had any similar feelings?
thank you again xxxxx

If baby is ok and there is a good strong heartbeat then id say just try and relax for the next 30 weeks. There isnt a day goes by when you wont worry, even when you pass the 12 week mark, but you know that baby is safe and sound in there and growing well.
thanx redcrx. i think im feeling really down, and sorry for myself. when i saw the midwife a week ago she felt my tummy and said i was about 12 weeks so i was really pleased as id be 13wks now, but think it was a shock when she said 10wks.but as you said everything was ok so i shud just relax and let the baby grow. oh yeah just thought of something else my sisterinlaw is also pregnant and she is 16wks, which is really annoying me, she already has 2 little girls and she is having babies like shelling peas. god i sound like im going mad.ive just gotta get on with things. thanks agin xx
My daughter was told at her first scan that she was almost 2 weeks less pregnant than her dates said, she went for her 20 week scan a few weeks ago and they told her she was 1 week behind dates, her midwife says her measurements make her almost exactly on dates. I had the same with my son 10 years ago,at 12 weeks they told me I was 9 weeks which was an impossibility as I knew exactly when I had concieved.lol.By my dates he was due August 7th,by their dates he was due September 3rd,he was actually born on August 23rd and his skin was peeling, this only happens with late babies,so my dates were the correct ones. Scans are not always right so don't think that what they told you is set in stone.
Like redcrx said, getting to 10 weeks is a good sign,I have read that most miscarriages occur around the 8 weeks stage or before so try not to worry too much. Many women go on to have normal pregnancies after suffering a miscarriage so the fact that you had one last year doesn't increase your chances of having another really. All pregnant women worry about miscarrying so your fears are perfectly normal.
