I've been trying (and so far failing) to get pregnant for 6 months now and just about ever woman I know seems to be pregnant. Theres good news everytime I talk to someone. Came off my pill in May and havent had a proper period since. Its sooooo blimmin frustrating and upsetting :o( Has anyone else had any similar experiences coming off the pill? I was on it for 10 years but dont know if that has any relevance to how long it takes for my cycle to settle down. I need shares in clear blue cos I'm always having to 'check' to make sure!

im no expert but it can take up to 2 years from stopping the pill i believe

if you are stressing about it though it can make it even more difficult to conceive

i got pg straight off the pill but then miscarried - after that it took 11 months to fall pg again from which I had my beautiful daughter... i actually fell pg when my hubby had just come out of hospital after a terrible road accident and i remember thinking it would be the worse time to get pg as he was going to be off sick for a while so money would be awful - so sods law stepped in!...i'm glad it did mind! think the old rule about you'll get it when you stop wanting it is very hard but it happened in my case :-) my advice would be to try to forget about it and also if you have been having 'nuptuals' (lol) frequently try waiting a while - save up the good stuff so to speak!!!! well it worked for me as hubby was in hospital for 8 days!!! guess i was really glad to see him when he got home! good luck and don't worry it will happen :-) x

dont just look at your cycle etc tho, sperm count does also contribute remember!
It can take a while for them to sort themselves out. I would advise that you do ovulation tests. They are a bit expensive but you can check when is the best time to get Mr in the sack.
it took me and my partner 14 months to concieve. Every month we bought a test and when they were all negative I sat and cried for an entire day! I hated myself and we'd have so many rows! Then, we sat down and talked about it and decided maybe we were being too hard on ourselves, that it would happen when it happened. We started to put the romance back into sex instead of it being so mechanical, just as a means to an end, the baby being the end. As soon as we did that, hey presto! :-)
lollyone,

took me 3 years. depending on your age for example if your over 35 your doctor will check it out after 6 months, if your younger you need to try for a year before they will investigate. I'd try not to worry and I know it's easier said than done but fingers crossed for you. I know how fruestrating and upsetting it can be.
A simple and inexpensive way to check when you are ovulating is to ask your Gp for a temperature chart and buy a cheap thermometer from a chemist. You take your temp every morning before you get out of bed. I had trouble conceiving my youngest and this method really helped me.
Hi, i've been trying for 2 years with no joy, i was on the pill for 11 years i came off it in 2005, it took until this year for my cycle to be every 33-34days. a friend of mine told me to take ovulex to help ovulation, which i'm currently trying.
