Braxton Hicks
Although this is my second pregnancy, this is a new one for me to experience as I didnt have them with my first. I know what happens and what they are supposed to feel like but is there a point when youre getting them more than you should?
For the past couple of days Ive been getting what I think is the Braxton Hicks on a very regular basis. It seems whenever I do something, even something easy like the washing up, my whole stomach goes solid and seems to weigh ten times as much. This does ease but comes and goes until I am resting again. They are not painful as such, but sometimes very uncomfortable and stop me in my tracks!
Are these normal ones or is it being caused by something else like babys position?
Thanks in advance :)

They only normally engage that early in your first pregnancy. I said the other midwife was stern and negative and put me off as well as worried me, she said that shes like that with everyone! lol
lol red, I think she is probably generally a nice person, just needs to work on her people skills. She had actually pretty much put me off having the home birth I have wanted all along too but after speaking to the nice midwife today, my confidence has been restored and Im feeling so much more relaxed about everything.
Something useful I have been told......... because Im expreiencing some cramping type pains, thanks to baby doing what baby should be doing lol, I have been told I can start using a TENS machine to help ease the pain. When I said I plan on having one for the birth anyway but was advised not to use one before 37 weeks, the midwife said they only say that as it can mask the start of labour as its a pain relief but she has never known of this happening and has given me the go ahead to use one already.
Shame they dont do one for PGP because I am in agony with that most of the time now and theres nothing more that can be done about it :(
