Erm, I think I'd like to be about 5 months preg. I'd like a nice neat bump, no stretch marks and big boobs.

Morning warpig, that reminds me, I need to pass the misigog title back to its rightful owner! lol

It was that remark that got to me, more than it would normally, but you know how these hormones escalate things! lol The thought of what he was suggesting, in a round about way, is still niggling at me a bit but Im not going to let it worry me anymore, Ive got a little baby to get ready for and enjoy :)

The old wives tale could have been seen to be justified a century ago when care and nutrition and maternity systems were a LOT different to now. Perhaps they looked for a reason back then for anything and thus started these little beliefs

Do what you want to now, as i said i will have everything from before, you cant go kicking everything out because theres a baby on the way.

If it's any consolation I found it a bit insensitive too; it's something probably at the back of all of our minds in our worst nightmares, not something you necessarily need advising on or slamming right in front of your face. Hope you're feeling ok today :-)

I am fine today, got lumps and bumps sticking out all over the place, lol.

I thought it was particulary insensitive too and was about to go into one with him but decided against it as I didn't want to give any creedence to his remarks. Suffice it to say that the remarks showed a complete lack of sensitivity on his behalf and more than a little ignorance. Still, it takes all sorts and there will always be people like that around. It did pray on my mind too, not so much what he said but the sheer audacity that he was saying it. Perhaps if he had to carry a child for 9 months then squeeze it out through his f@nny and have his hormones racing all over the place he would have a more sensible approach to these myths. Forget about it, thats what I intend to do (mind you, may take a day or two).

Nat, I think you are right, we all do have our fears deep down, it is only natural but as you say, to have them thrust in you face like that is another thing completely.

Actually, I had never heard of those myths before and to be honest my house looks like a Mothercare warehouse at the moment, there is stuff everywhere, clothes in bags, prams in wardrobes, car seat under the stairs, stuff in suitcases (not actually sure what is in suitcases anymore but defo baby related), its everywhere - lol, no wonder poor mrwarpig is walking around looking in a state of shock!

Im sure its the latter red. Normally the latter would be me too but I think with all the panics of knowing its all so close now didnt help! But as I said to you yesterday, today is another day and thats in the past now :)

haha warpig, just wait til babys first birthday and you have a clear out to make room for her new toys and you come across bags and bags of newborn stuff, bottles, bibs etc youve forgotten about.

The only thing i have bought so far for baby is a pack of Dr Browns bottles, Im really wanting to go out and buy but until i know whats happening re: moving house i darent fill every space with more baby stuff
