One of my friends is having a baby shower - she expecting twins in May. Anyway, I thought this is a bit of an American thing but do believe people take presents along for the babies. I am not too keen to buy for the babies before they are born - I know I will have fun doing that when they are here but would not want to go along empty handed. Is there anything that anyone could suggest would be a good idea - something for 'mum' perhaps rather than just some flowers?

How about something she can pamper herself with? A selection of creams and lotions maybe. You can get sets with pregnant mums in mind. Another idea would be to maybe give her a gift certificate for a salon to either have her hair or her nails done. The gift certificate could be for a shop where she could either spend the money on herself or baby, i.e. Blooming Marvellous, that way you wouldnt be directly buying for the babies but she could use the money to get something that will be needed once they arrive herself.
hi i had a baby shower and all my guests agreed that they would buy for me as the baby would have lots when it was born. i had things like
bath salts
massaging creams
salon voucher
bottle of bubbly-for after the arrival
restaurant voucher- it was a voucher for me and my partner to go out for a meal all paid for
photo album
new pjs & slippers-which came in handy in hospital
i was going to say comfy clothes like slippers, fluffy socks, pj's or dressing gown. just what you need when youve had a baby or two!
