Interesting - the 'MIL' phoned last night to ask how I was and when I was due. This is the first time she has ever acknowledged that I am pregnant (well apart from the initial 'shame' lecture) do you think she is mellowing??? I must admit I found it rather amusing.

Surely a baby is enough to mellow anyone , mind you , I don't have a MIL so I don't know if it's possible for one to mellow at the last leg. Poor lass , what a rotten thing to do to you to give you a shame lecture !

Luckily (or unluckily) for me my MIL has a swinging brick where her heart should be, and so I don't have to worry about what she thinks; we usually always visited her, but due to a new house, major works going on in the house and the pregnancy, amongst other things, we asked that she visit / call us but alas nothing. We moved into our first house in June last year and it took her until December to visit despite visiting my OH's sister who lives five mins round the corner. We've only seen her once since April last year!

awww, Im lucky to have my MIL, we went to visit her last week and she'd knitted a little white jumper for baby. She always calls after my checkups if we havnt called her too

Patricia, she is actually quite a nice lady except for her very staunch views on religion, marriage (or lack of it in my case), that said, my names for her at times have been 'choice' due to comments I have heard! As for the baby, well I have a few but generally I refer to her as smelly, thats terrible isn't it! I can't help it, just reckon the smell of poo is gonna make me wretch! Poor little thing! I quite like Erin, Tamsin and Trudie but am still not sure, maybe I will know better when I see her.
