Low Lying Placenta
Hi ladies :-)
My eldest daughter had her 20 week scan last week and they told her that her placenta is very low in the womb, she has to go for another scan at 36 weeks to see if it has moved upwards at all. Can anyone tell me what the implications are if it stays low and will she have to have a c section?
By the way she is having a girl so I will have a grand-daughter to go with the grandson born last month to my other daughter.

Sounds as if you daughter was given the relevent answers re the low lying placenta. If it stays low then a c-section will be needed so as to avoid any risk to the baby.
I know of many women on my mums boards who have had a low placenta and i reckon that in about 80% of cases it has moved up by the 36 week scan.
Hope all goes well and it moves out of the way xx
