dating scan

went to the doctors at around 9 weeks, im now 12 weeks and havent had a 'dating scan'.My last pregnancy ended dramatically at at around 11 weeks,so i was looking forward to the scan. I just received a letter in the post, saying that my dating scan will be the 3rd of sept, which by then by my dates ill be 16 weeks, is there anything i can do to bring it closer?

why not try calling the hospital and asking if they can bring it forward at all.
Failing that, some compaines will do private scans for a fee. They are often very good though.
Unless its a nuchal scan as well they dont have to do it within a certain time period, it may just be that the hospital are busy or that by not getting on their records until 9 weeks that they have no nearer appointments.

im really surprised that you werent called for a scan at 8 wks then 12 as where we live if someone has miscarriage history they are scanned early to ensure all is ok, i would ask your midwife to do a heartbeat check on the doppler for peace of mind for you and i would give of a bit to your dr/consultant that you are not being monitored more frequently given your history.
