I heard from my friend at lunch who was having an early scan due to previous problems and she txt saying 'they could not find anything so could be I've got dates wrong and I'm only 4 weeks or I;ve lost or losing baby' Now I dont understand first bit if she was just 4 weeks could they still tell her if she was pregnant or not?

If she'd got her dates wrong, doubt they would be able to see anything? How many months did she think she was 4get?

she though she was 6 weeks but she had problems before and was bleeding all weekend so thats why they gave her scan today. wouldnt they just do a test?

if they did a test it would still probably give positive result even if she were loosin or had lost the baby as there would still be pregnancy hormones there. have never been in that situation and i know i wouldnt want to be, i hope everything goes ok for your friend whatever the outcome x

Don't think the heart starts beating until 6 weeks, and I think thats the main thing they look for at an early scan, as it's so tiny. So presumably if they can't see a heart beating it doesn't mean that theres no baby, it could just be too soon. Maybe thats what the docs/midwife told her?
