Sorry this is gross...
Can you help???
I have two kittens, (as you can see from my pic) and they are 15 weeks old now. I have noticed that their bums smell a little bit at the moment but their pooh is normal and their litter tray is kept clean...
***Before I am asked how I know this, they both like to snuggle up under my chin when I am reading and often turn around, passing their bum right under my nose!!!***
Any suggestions???
Sorry for the gross subject!!!
Cheers,
Rachel

While we wait for one of the cat experts to awaken perhaps you could state what you feed the kittens. It may be perfectly normal with the diet they are on.
Don't worry about the gross factor on A & N. All animals pass the remnants of their meals and it is part of animal caring. This stuff is often a very handy indicator as to the health state of the animal.

Wildwood - They have Whiskas dry kitten food out as standard and then cat treats of things like chicken and liver sticks, turkey and lamb sticks, cheese pockets, beef pockets, salmon pockets...

I have two cats Frankie and his sister Merlin.
When Frankie goes to the litter tray he stinks the house out. It is awful as it just hits you like a wave. But he spends ages after going to the litter tray digging, digging and digging in the litter and then he has to clean his paws, and that is either on the walls or on a towel. By the time he comes to see me he is pretty odour free.
His sister goes to the litter tray and then races out again (she is stupid) and her bum does smell if she sticks it in my face. She has long hair so it must cling to her hairy bottom.
Cats stick their bum in your face as a sign of trust - showing that you are no threat to them. You will get used to cat bum in your face. Some mornings it is the first thing that I see.
Have fun with your kittens. My two are 5 and a half years old and have calmed down quite a bit. But they are still fun to have around.
