At what age did you leave your family home

I left aged 17 to move in with my then fiancé...

18 initially. Because my Mum went completely potty. The locks were changed within 2 hours .

Although I'm currently with my Dad so the answer will soon be 28 :(

16- as quickly as I could afford, and didn't look back.

19. To get married. We've just had our 39th wedding anniversary.

18 - got married and never looked back. Couldn't wait to go.

15. My family had emigrated to Australia and I never liked it and missed the extended family back home so came back on my own and went to live with an Aunt and Uncle. Had to get a job to pay my way.

19 - my mother was still polishing my shoes, and a lovely Scottish girl saw what I needed, and got me into my own flat. Mind you, she came along too ...

I left and went back, then left and went back, then left and went back then left and got married at 25

(I worked abroad on a couple of occasions, once at 18 and then at 21 then lodged with another family at 23 for a couple of years for work reasons)

I actually enjoyed living with my parents - I had all the freedom I wanted, could come and go as I pleased and liked their company. They were fun people.

Then 19, 21 and 28.... Still not gone back yet but there's always a spare room.

just 17 -had done my As when I was 16 and took what they call a "Gap Year" and moved to Norfolk to work with one of the oil service Cos out of Yarmouth -lived in Gorleston. Then to Uni after that

That's comforting China, knowing you can go back anytime and there is always a room for you.
I left once at 16 after an argument and lived with a friend for a bit until my parents talked me into coming home again....to be honest I couldnt wait to leave home and be independent....unfortunately that happend after the split with my then partner lol.....I loved having my own first home & mortgage, which will now be something of a rarity for teenagers / early 20 year olds these days.

33, and because my mother offered me £2k to get a place of my own...

at 15 cos 'I knew better than my parents' - wanted to work with horses - make it my career. After 18 months of living over the stables, working a 10/12 hour day, 6 day week and having 1 weekend a month off to go home (40 miles away) for £8 a month (less deductions!) I realised I was stupid. The penny dropped that without any backup qualifications, it would only take one serious accident to leave me completely unemployable. swallowed pride, asked to return home, went back to college to get my GCE's.

I wasn't brought up in a family (was in care from 3 months old) but left the kid's home at 16 and moved into a flat. You have to leave at that age.

20. Left to work abroad as a Travel courier, Met my Husband and Never looked back. That was over 40 years ago - (trying Out my New iPad and it keeps on throwing in capital letters and German corrections) I THink I'll go back to my lappy:)
