If she's had calpol for the you'll just have to wait it out until it takes effect I'm afraid. Try and give her a cuddle, this might sound a bit off but you could try a warm compress held up gently against the her ear the warmth can soothe. Has she any other symptoms like sniffles and so forth?
shes down now, sorry for absence her favourite person has got home, daddy hugs make it all better. The strange thing is though her ears were checked only a couple of weeks ago when she had a virus. Yes Sher she was cutting a tooth but its cut so dont see how the earache can be linked. She was given calpol following a bump to her head whilst retrieving a golf ball from an awkward nook under the sink. Shes had a snotty cold and when she cries she snots more, and then chokes because she dosnt realize blowing her nose is the better option! shes lying on daddy having snuggles watching sherlockx
If she has got a cold, put Karvol on her clothes so that her airways are kept open. This will lessen the pain in her ears (and if she gets earache in the future do it then too, even if she has got any sniffs). Only recently got told about this and it does seem to help. Hope she feels better soon, x.
if her nose is a bit on the bunged up side, stick a pillow under the mattress to prop her upper body up a bit, and fix a long towel across the bottom sheet to stop her slipping down, it all helps in keeping the nasal passages clear. My health visitor from 20odd years ago told me to do this with my daughter when she was snuffly and it still works, my daughter had her friend do this when her little one was ill.
i tend to put karvol and baby olbas oil onto a wet tea towel and put it on the radiator in his room when my lo has a cold - my mum always says not to let the air get too dry in his room when he has a cold anyway, and this is a great way of getting some menthol into the air. you can alternate calpol (paracetemol) with ibuprofen suspension so that effectively she is getting something every couple of hours. i used to only give calpol as and when needed, but by the time it kicks in he's worked himself up and the pain has got the better of him. when he was poorly over christmas the GP said that while he's ill, keep him dosed up every 4 hours during the day, even if he seems ok. this worked for a couple of days, although i'm pleased to say he seems better now and is back off the calpol. speak to pharmacist about alternating between the two medicines, and get an appointment with GP - they won't mind checking her over for you even if you were only there a couple of weeks ago - puts your mind at rest too. hope she settles better tonight for you xx
well i have changed all her bedding flipped her matress and flumped the pillow to within an inch of its life also she settles with music so moved the player into her room to see if it helps shes been a right mardy moo today but no snuffles-shes almost two so im guessing the terrible twos are kicking in! thanks for all your help, and nini glad to hear your little one has got betterxx
