Hi my ex partner walked out on me and my 3 children (1 is his) about 6 weeks ago. He is now threatening to empty the house of everything he put any money towards. I had everything in the house (he is not on the tenancy) before he moved in with us but we did replace the bedroom furniture together. The main things that he wants is the tv and ps3, the ps3 came with my mobile contract and my daughter plays on it. Does anyone know where i stand legally?????

Why is it people have to disbelieve these posts? It makes for such a nice welcome to this site.

To the OP, sorry your ex is being such a brat, he must be related to mine. He tried the exact same thing, I just told him no!
As has been mentioned, is he paying child support? If no then get on to that straight away, by today's standards, if he is working and has not paid...

Thank you to every one that has replied, i needed peace of mind last night and have been to CAB today. He has no rights to any of the furniture/electrical goods as i have supported him in the past while he was out of work and i have been left with arrears on the rent to pay. Locks have been changed and will definatley be calling the police if he turns up here. Thank you again
Good for you, stay strong x
Good for you, take care of yourself and your girls. x
So pleased you came back to let us know how you are! We're not a bad bunch and are here to help... mostly ;0)

Well done for being proactive, now all you need to do is stay that way! Keep strong girl and of course keep us updated!
Just look after you and your little family for now.

Thank you for your support Lisa, i got a lot of abuse again last night from him but it's all been logged with the police. I did mention CSA to him and strangely enough he has changed his tune for now thanks again Kate xx
If he is not on the tenancy agreement and he tries to come round, call the police. He will be locked up for breach of the peace.
Just keep the moral high ground hun....it works wonders! Learn by my mistakes. I sunk to my ex's level too many times, still do some 11 years later [:0(] It gets you no where. If he wants to see his daughter, smile and say of course, if he shouts at you...walk away!
I'm so sorry you're going through this, I know how damn hard and soul destroying it is BUT you will, as in the words of the song, survive.
Keep smiling.

So, he owns a half share of the bedroom furniture?? Get an axe and chop it in half and give him his share! Seriously, it sounds as if you are well rid of this person from your life. Good advice has been given - speak to CAB, change locks and check out child maintenance. Good luck.
