There are some circumstances which may allow you to claim an interest in your former partner’s home, for example if it is the family home for children, or if you have paid towards it – but this is a complicated area of law and it is very important to get some advice on your particular situation. If the home is owned in your former partner’s sole name, there may be steps which could be taken to register a potential interest for you at the Land Registry and protect any rights you may have. "

Her one other thread is asking for advice about being stuck in a loveless relationship. So my guess is she is asking for advice about what happens to her if she gets thrown out of the home by her partner.
Not stated explicitly but possibly she is enquiring where she stands with respect to benefits claims (eg will it count as being intentionally homeless?), rights of access to the children (assuming he wins custody due to owning the property etc)
I don't know the answers to these kinds of questions myself, just throwing this suggestion in to see if it helps.

i really really don't get your answer methy; the poster says "But how would I stand if I asked a solicitor? I am trying to save costs to see a solicitor had thought about CAB but spoke some time ago and bit vague and referred me to family law solicitor. I have read I could be given permission to live in his house until girls were adult but somewhere read permission for just 6 Mths. I am very worried about break up for children let alone any arguments about this"
To me this seems pretty clear that she has seen the CAB, wants to got o a solicitor, and is worried about a break up. I don't really see where hte shame on me comes in

Methyl - she states quite clearly that this is about a break up - she is clearly wanting to separate and wants advice - and she is asking here to save money on a solicitor
shame on you for not reading the Q properly, and shame on you for your misplaced judgement ...

Can't say am any wiser, off to family law solicitor. I am sorry not fully explained previously, It is not about money but about ensuring a roof over my head for myself and children. My children are
my priority, although my sanity a close 2nd. Living in a lifeless relationship with negativity, and mental abuse common place.
