Basically my hubby wants us to rent a property that would be perfect for his business and to be honest I have fell in love with it too!! Hate were we live as there is lots of low lives, drug users, and loose dogs. The problem is that I have 2 sons ....one is in his last year of school...the other one go's to college so it would mean them moving in with their dad or coming with us and having to change school and college. It is only half hour drive away but I couldnt physically ferry them backwards and forwards because of the shifts I work.
my eldest doesnt mind going to his dads but the other son doesnt want to live at his dads. To be honest its a struggle to get him to go one night a week !! And they would have to share a small room at their dads.
there isnt an option with transport we have already checked. Feel quite resentful as it was their dad who had the affair years ago (hence divorce) but he,s still been able to do as and when he pleases..... I cant because the boys are with me 6 days a week.
Sorry - i know you didn't mean towards your boys. In all honesty, if it were me and my children were happy and settled, i would wait a few years, rather than disrupting them.
I would say go for it hon, it sounds as If it suits both you and Mr ilove,
As Dot says, your sons could use public transport, and surely just the fact that you would be getting them out of an unpleasant area ( by the sound of it) would be a big bonus.
Could the lads stay with Dad during the week and come home at weekends?
Maybe you could take them to Dad on Sun eve and they could come home on fri after school/college.
thanks sparkles !! I will have tospeak to their dad just seems impossible tokeep everyone happy. to make things worse my 15 year old has just finally got a bedroom to him self as he has been sharing with his STEPbrother who has left and gone to uni !!!
Have you asked their dad what help he could give with the transport? It's not only your responsibility! Also, are there other pupils from those schools/colleges who live near the new house, that you might ask for a lift?
Ah I see it has been suggested.
Does any other pupil at the school live in the area and would be happy to share petrol costs and take your kids ? Can you ask at the school ?
Is a bicycle an option ?
Is delaying a year before moving an option ?
Maybe you could get a mortgage on the business place and have both business & domestic property for a year.
