has anyone any ideas for simple art, craft etc ideas for world book day fto use with a year 1 class?

or perhaps sticking parts of a Mr Men character together on a page. e.g. if 'Miss' has cut out the different coloured elements that go together to make Little Miss Helpful, the children could use their 'kit' and some glue to put her together onto a page

Could you make little books with a simple story, one line per page and the children could illustrate each page. Or give groups of children a big page with a popular book title and they could illustrate it together (could use loads of crafty stuff and then turn it into a display).

one thing NOT to do would be Harry Potter. Everyone will dress up as a character from those books.
