Do you feel that the drag diva Conchita may have done a disservice to the trans-gender community by appearing as a 'bearded lady'?

It is difficult enough for people other than heterosexuals to find acceptance in general Society.

For those who purposely misread this.... do your worst, I can take it.

I`m not sure he /she is trans-gender. I thought he was a drag artist and Conchita is the alta ego. I was out of the country when the show was on TV so I haven`t managed to see much about it in the media.

I think that it was very big of Georgios Samaras to take the time to compete, especially with all of his (lack of) contact issues at Celtic.

Dana International was transgender all those years ago, wasn't she? I can't see how Conchita has hurt them any more than Grayson Perry.

Ever been to a drag show? The artistes want to look like women. Not women with beards. I think he was attention seeking and I love the quote "This is dedicated to everyone who believes in a future of peace and freedom. We are unity" Year, right..

I thought he looked a prat...........all the drag shows I've seen it's been difficult to tell they were actually men, which I thought was the point of the act.

I don't think his use of public toilets is correct. He uses the ladies when in drag and the gents when not. He is still a male so should only use the gents.

Caran - that`s normal. I remember my friend and I ended up in the Hippodrome in London on a Monday night. We didn`t know it was gay night. All the trannies were in the Ladies. There were more boys in there than girls.

I don't feel comfortable with that. Nothing against gays or transgenders or transvestites but everyone should stick to their own loos!!!

The Hippodrome? Is it still going? When I was there last you got five drinks for a tenner! First place I'd ever been in where they served your change up on a plate. :)

I don`t think so Douglas. This was in the late 80s. I think it was owned by Peter Stringfellow at the time. It might be a casino now.

I do remember it being an eye-opener for a lad from the sticks. I'm sure one of the waitresses was a guy called Marilyn, a pal of Boy George.
We wondered what they'd think back on the farm. :)

Did Marilyn start at a club called Blitz? It was owned by Steve Strange (from Visage) and Boy George was the coat check boy who used to nick money from peoples` pockets (in his own words).
