What Should I Do?

This all happened yesterday. It was late at night when I heard knocking at the door, I went to check it out, and I tried turning on the outside lights to see who it was but they wouldn't turn on, then a few seconds later there was violent knocking at the door I was frightened until I heard it was my brother yelling at me to open the damn door, my brother had just returned from work with my father. My family has a way to tell us that it's them, het my brother didn't do it. Then a few minutes later he starts talking about how I just stood there and didn't open the door and how lazy I was. Then I told him what I was doing, of course in an angry tone because, how was I supposed to react to that. Then he started calling me a *** and how I should just shut the *** up and say how disrespectful I am to him. I've been doing everything he has demanded since I was seven, never once have I ever disrespected him. But when I don't do something for him he becomes a *** *** and says whatever the *** he wants to me and never apologises later. Yet dispite all of this my parents took his side. I understand that he was tired but he was being overly disrespectful and harsh to me than usual. And I don't like crying in front of them because they'll tell me that I'm being too sensitive and that I'm not a kid anymore so I should stop crying, I had to hold it in as best as I could until I got out of that room and cried silently.

Now I don't even know how to react towards them, especially towards my parents

Wrong of him not to accept your explanation for not opening the door under those circumstances, hopefully things will settle down.

Any chance you can move out?

Living at home with your parents, you sound quite young. How old are you? Mamya's advice sound like the solution to this problem.
Brothers can be mean. How old is he and how old are you?
afraid I would have told him to shut the **** up right back and pointed out I was not his doormat !
Question Author
I am currently 14 about to turn 15 in two months. My brother is currently 16. There is no chance of me moving out unfortunately
Apologies, didn't realise you were so young.
you have to assert yourself now before the situation becomes intolerable...
The thing is if you start to answer back with language as bad as his then it becomes a spiral.

Sad your parents won't listen to you - any other family members or someone at school maybe?
Question Author
you didn't know it's okay
you can be assertive and confident without falling out with them, you are very young and should be having fun with your friends not being treated in such a way by a bullying older brother...
Question Author
Well I try to not to use the same language as him and always try to remain calm and polite, I've informed of my bestfriend about this
Is it possible for you to just ignore him? Stare at him blankly when he starts on you and walk away whilst he's ranting. Don't let him see that his has an effect on you. He'll stop then.
^ his behaviour
If your brother is only 16, how come he's in work?
Question Author
I've tried ignoring him. Unfortunately that resulted in a terrible failure. He picked up my phone and tablet and threw them to the ground and started kicking them
Tell him to get a key!
Question Author
Also to answer your question jackdaw, its simply because he wants to save up to go to college
Question Author
We do have an extra key to the house but the thing is, it's hidden. I've only became aware of the extra key recently
Not much point having a spare key if no one knows where it is.
"...my brother had just returned from work with my father."

So why didn't your father just open the door with his key?
