What Should I Do?

This all happened yesterday. It was late at night when I heard knocking at the door, I went to check it out, and I tried turning on the outside lights to see who it was but they wouldn't turn on, then a few seconds later there was violent knocking at the door I was frightened until I heard it was my brother yelling at me to open the damn door, my brother had just returned from work with my father. My family has a way to tell us that it's them, het my brother didn't do it. Then a few minutes later he starts talking about how I just stood there and didn't open the door and how lazy I was. Then I told him what I was doing, of course in an angry tone because, how was I supposed to react to that. Then he started calling me a *** and how I should just shut the *** up and say how disrespectful I am to him. I've been doing everything he has demanded since I was seven, never once have I ever disrespected him. But when I don't do something for him he becomes a *** *** and says whatever the *** he wants to me and never apologises later. Yet dispite all of this my parents took his side. I understand that he was tired but he was being overly disrespectful and harsh to me than usual. And I don't like crying in front of them because they'll tell me that I'm being too sensitive and that I'm not a kid anymore so I should stop crying, I had to hold it in as best as I could until I got out of that room and cried silently.

Now I don't even know how to react towards them, especially towards my parents

I presumed that to mean that the brother had returned home from a stint at work with his father, not that it matters really.
I do hope you get some advice or at least persuade your parents to have a round table chat and sort some ground rules out.

Good luck.

Do I sense the sound of three goats tripping-trapping?
Funny how you seem to have a ready answer for everything.
Seems like a reasonable question to me. Must happen in families all over the world.

Sorry but I find first time postings like this in Answerbank somewhat suspicious of being a wind up.. There was one a few days back and, whilst I requested some proof that it was genuine, I was told, in no uncertain terms by a highly respected AB member, that the Original Poster had No need to prove anything to me.

The OP has now been made 'User Inactive'.

All very strange.

Hans.
Hans - this isn't an edgy question.
I'm not surprised Hans - anyone thinking an OP is a wrong one should make a report not have digs at them.
Curiouser and curiouser, Hans.
Is it? Would you hang around?

I wouldn't.
Why Stay when you've been rumbled?
When a stranger on a Q&A site asks for proof. That's curious!
I find it curious that most of the angst ridden/family difficulties teenagers on AB seem to be American. We don't get many British teenager posting in the same way, do we?
