the name of a film about love letters

i would like the name of a film,it was about love letters a man found in a bureau in a old house that he answered and the letters were transported in time,the couple sent these letters to each other until the house burnt down thanks

Sorry, don't know this film but it sounds very similar to a short story called The Love Letter by Jack Finney, though there are only about 3 letters in the story.

The Love Letter starring Campbell Scott and Jennifer Jason Leigh. It was made in 1998 for TV by The Hallmark Channel. It's about a chap who buys an antique desk and finds a letter written by a woman from the American Civil War period.
It's still shown quite regularly on Hallmark. I think it was on about 2 weeks ago.

I wish I could remember the name of the film, but if I have got the right one wasn't Christopher Reeve in it and I think it may have been Jane Seymour.
