When you've spent the last 2 years defending Boris for his blunders there's every chance Shapps forgot what his job is.

He new full well of P&Os plan to get rid of thousands of workers, and did nothing. Now he's doing nothing yet again.

The Government are not going to sit down with the Unions.
But it is the Treasury who are demanding the industry restructures, and that there must be job losses.
Network rail are negotiating the Unions but the Government holding the purse strings.
So there is built-in paralysis and a very long strike looks inevitable.
Other professions are also considering strike action, so if the Government isn’t careful, we could have widespread industrial unrest. Just what we need after the pandemic, economic malaise, and sleazy Government.

Very true. Also, is the same Grant Shapps who slated P&O for getting rid of staff who then hired a load of unskilled and unqualified agency staff, only to recommend the same for the railways only a few months later?
