As I've always understood it, a one night stand always involved sex...maybe it started as a date but it ended with sex...and there wasn't a second one. I was a late starter, and had quite a few 1-3 night dates plus short *relationships*. That was repeated between separating from first husband and starting to date/hang out with second.

In the court reports ( EWHC England and Wales high Court that is!) the only things with four legs are dogs ( attacking) chairs and tables, and the odd plan ( with four legs to it)
