What are your plans? What's cooking? What's flowing?
OH is out tonight with some friends, one of whom was widowed just the other day. We got the sad news on the way to his Granddad's funeral. His late wife was only 54 - no age at all. So OH and his BF are meeting up with our widowed friend and his son for a few quiet drinks and I'll be at home doing very little.
This time next week we'll be boarding our plan to Turkey. I cannot wait...
I hope your weekend is set to be far more exciting than mine. Have a good one.
OH's brother had a new kitchen fitted the other day but they've bodged it apparently. They stuck a piece of worktop to the wall as though it was a splashback. Oh dear, they're going to have to rip it off and re-plaster it. I'm pretty sure they're going on holiday themselves tomorrow so who knows what will happen...
A mild seafood curry is cooking.
I'd hazard a guess some wine will be flowing later.
My plan is to sleep well tonight.
Enjoy doing very little and your trip OS.
Good morning LadyC. I have no plans for the day and intend to do as little as possible (Something always crops up)
As one had a Tesco delivery yesterday I've no idea what to eat later but remember you suggested on a food thread about Worcester sauce, I have some. ;-)
Oh well done, Arky. I used Worcestershire Sauce in lots of different dishes. OH made himself some stir-fry last night with some hot and spicy rice and marinated pork loin. Good Lord he went overboard with the Carolina Reaper sauce. He's going to start regretting that sometime very soon.
It’s my son in laws niece’s baby ( work that one out) we were at her first baby’s christening , Sienna, now at baby Matilda’s today .
It’ll be nice to dress up a bit for the occasion, bet you can’t wait for next Saturday ?
Bobbi, I am literally counting the hours. I've had a really %$?% week at work this week having to do several extra theatre lists and then yesterday found out that four patients had cancelled out of five on a list for next Tuesday PM and the person who had taken the calls hadn't bothered to tell me. That list is going to go down, no doubt about it. If she'd told me sooner I could have found more cases. I nearly had a breakdown yesterday when Theatres were asking why I only had one case on for the afternoon list on Tuesday. I guess the young lass didn't think I needed to know that 80% of the patients had cancelled...
I can't wait to see Moules' face when he sees the water slides :-)
So sorry to hear that Lcg,
Does Moules swim ? Is he having lessons, I think it’s so important that every child should be taught to swim.
I’ve WhatsApped you this morning, sounds like you really need a breathing space between you and the hospital you work from
He’s just about the age where swimming lessons come in , I think it’s around year 4 or 5 when they go with their school to the local baths, but with all the cut backs a lot of pools have closed , well here they have :0(
The Secondary school he will be going to has their own very big pool apparently. He's an Aquarian so I think he'll love swimming. He certainly loved his baths when he was a tiny baby!
So what lovely food are you conjuring up later?
I'm having a prawn salad and OH is having steak pie, skin-on fries and mushy peas - he needs some stodge if he's going out drinking.
I wouldn't know, I was never Christened and I've never been to one.
I think these days it's just an excuse for a ***-up for some. How many people who have their children Christened regularly go to Church? This is why I didn't marry in a Church.
Waiting in for some parcels ( embroidery books, always room for a few more) then a grocery delivery later, if the books get here by 11 I am going to pop out for a few things I forgot to put in the online order. Apart from that not a lot planned. Home made burger and salad tonight ( no bun) no alcohol allowed for 8 weeks. No dessert unless I want berries and a spoonful of Greek yoghurt.... Tomorrow ... Who knows but depends on the weather.
My two were christened but that was all of 55 and 52 years ago when Methodism ‘rooled’ in our small mining community and it was expected that a baby would be christened
Friend had a naming ceremony for her daughter with a humanist celebrant, it was really lovely, held in her mostly overgrown garden with a bouncy castle for the kids ( adults after 8pm) and the equivalent of godparents made their promises, as did her parents and grandparents,
