No. Work must come first.

Abbey, lots of people go out on 'school nights' and still go to work the following day. Are you expecting it to be a late, drink-filled evening?

Depends whether you consider party time more important than work timeπŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ˜’

Go figure,,,

No. You're still on probation and already on reduced hours.

Them lot sometimes stay late. What do I do?

There must be some grown-up people in 'them lot' - they won't all be staying out until all hours, some will have work, some might have kids, some will have sense....

Put work first, not your social life.

What shall I say to her?

"No, I'm not going. "

For goodness sake Abbey you're a grown woman. You don't have to stay out late because 'they' are and you do not have to drink to excess. Go out for a couple of hours if you must and get home at a reasonable hour and be at work on Wednesday. Do you want to risk losing the job it took you so long to get?

Question Author

I tried to ask for day off but my boss didn't listen or write it down

That'll be a no then

Asking was a silly thing to do in my opinion as it shows you prioritise staying out late drinking with  'them lot' over your job. Your boss said no but has probably made a mental note of how little you seem to value this job

Abbey, why are you asking us - today- if you should change your shift if your boss has already ignored your attempts to get the day off? Will you want your shifts changed, at short notice, any time there's a weekday social event?

(8.03)You had better make sure that you are at work on Wednesday then Abbey he will be looking for you

Please let us know if you decide to ho out tomorrow  I'm utterly enthralled and must know. It seems so life changing for you. We're all rooting for you.

I think you should go out but not enjoy it, that keeps everybody happy to some extent.

If you dont go out then you won't meet the handsome guy with loads of money to sweep you off your feet so you don't have to work at all.

Its a no brainer I guess..

Good Morning,

I remember being in my early 20's and partying all night, going home, sleeping for a few hours then getting to the office for 730am.

But, I had a mortgage and bills to pay.

If you don't and you really want to go, why not call in sick?

What is the worst that could happen? You are only young once.

^Abbey, don't call in sick.  That's poor advice.  Go out with your friends for a few hours, don't drink (it is possible to go out without drinking) go home at 11 and go to work as usual tomorrow.  Don't mess this job about.  It's more important to you and more valuable to you than a night out boozing with friends and making an exhibition of yourself.  There's nothing attractive about drunken women - ever.  It's stupid.
