Hi, I'm Laura ( 16 ). I live with my dad, and i have done most of my life. Its a long story but the bottom line is, i want to find my mum. My mum left the uk to move to Oz ( i dont know which part ) with my brother, step sister and her boyfriend. I could tell you the whole story but i guess the main thing is i try and get to my mum. Now, heres the tricky bit, my dad doesn't want me contacting the csa to get my mums phone number or address cause well, you know the complications that come with the Csa so i'm not going to get into that. But i have no phone numbers, no address, and i dont even know what part of Australia they live in. I'm desprate to just contact her and talk online, i'm not talking, i want to see her, cause as you know i'm sure, its not that simple. I cant search throught the computer using money either cause i just dont have it. Is there any other way i can find her without spending money and going through the Csa??

Thanks for any comments left.

i'm not a hundred per cent sure...but what aboutv the Salvation Army? i think that is free, and they helped my friend a few years ago find her dad who lived abroad. Maybe someone else could confirm that is free...

I wish you all the luck in the world - You sound very mature and sensible by not expecting too much or too little. I hope you find her xxxxxxxxx

hi laura did your mum have any family or close friends in the uk it maybe easier to find them she could still be in contacted with them. Good luck and best wishes.

My mum decided she didn't want to keep in contact with anyone from the Uk, not sure if that included me. Though i dont see why being as she left on good terms. Thank you though :)

Do you even know their surnames ??? It must be very difficult for you and I am sure you will not rest until you make every effort to find her. Just remember it is very unlikely that she just wanted to forget about you although I am sure that must be something that goes through your mind.

Try Genes re-united sister site to friends re-united, they seem to have a lot of sucess in finding relatives, to become a member is less than 10 but you can do your family tree and see if anyone else is searching or you can go on the tips board where you can ask for advice on how to trace, other members know other sites which could help your search. There is another board which allows you to post a request for people to get in touch.

Read the sucess stories to see how lucky some have been, I think you could just type your mums name in without joining and see what comes up.
If you are a member and get a matching name the site lets you send a message.

If you don't get a match with your close family names add grandparents etc as someone from another branch of your family may have information they haven't put on the site as they are trying to confirm it. Australians use the site as well so you could be lucky.

Good luck
