we have recently had a twenty week scan and have been told it is a girl. Having viewed the scan both my partner and i could not see the labia(three bones in the pelvis) which denote a girl. Can the sex be determined without these ?
I wouldn't trust any scan. My daughter's friend had a private scan and they told her she was having a girl. They already had a boy so was really pleased. Decorated all the nursery in pink and bought all the clothes for a girl. When baby was born it was a huge shock to find it was a boy.
Whats this 'labia 3 bones in the pelvis'? I am confused...
As far as I know the only way gender can be ascertained is by looking at the genitalia. When I had my girls, the sonographer told me it was difficult to see as the legs were closed..however she did comment ''I can see nothing that tells me it is a boy''. Therefore I would imgaine that at 20 weeks it would have been quite easy to see if it were a boy, as even with legs closed the scrotum hangs down quite a bit ;o)
